JELLO PLAYDOUGH - How To - Easy DIY PlayDoh | SoCraftastic

Happy Crafty Friday! In this DIY, learn how to make Jello Playdough that feels almost exactly the same as Play-Doh! This colorful dough is made with Jell-O, water, oil, salt, & cream of tartar. ♥ I N G R E D I E N T S :

• Water - 1 cup
• White Flour - 1 cup
• Salt - 2 Tbsp
• Cream of Tartar - 2 Tbsp
• Cooking Oil - 2 Tbsp
• Jello - 1 box // 3oz

Step One - Combine all ingredients in a pot.

Step Two - Mix with a whisk until all clumps are gone.

Step Three - Begin to cook over a medium flame. Stir often (with a mixing spoon) until the entire mixture has turned to dough. Do not burn the mixture.

Step Four - Place the dough on a flour coated baking sheet to cool. DO NOT touch dough with your hands until it is cool enough. This may take 20-30 minutes.

Repeat these steps to make other colors of dough.

Each batch will make about 12 ounces.

Store in a sealed container when not in use. Keep in the refrigerator.

I purchased all of the ingredients from Target.

If you're using the same size container of Cream of Tartar that I am, you will use half of it for each color. So, I used two containers total for my four colors.

i made my own playdough edible and yummy!
1 cup of powdered sugar
instead of jello i used 4-5 packets of kool-aid
and
slowly add in tablespoon by tablespoon until its a play dough

This is by far the best homemade playdough recipe I have tried. It feels like the real thing, smells good, has nice color, and makes a lot! Plus, the kids where I work absolutely love it!

I add an additional step to mind though. Once it cools I kneed in more floor so it does not stick to the cookie cutters and rollers the kids love to use.

You don't have to use jello, u can use food coloring and you don't need cream of tarter, trust me I have done this before without cream of tarter and it turned out amazing. The only thing cream of tarter does is it helps it last longer but if u need a substitute you can use 2 table spoons of vinegar or half a cup of salt. Good luck
