I am from Odisha and I know how much problem we face due to natural disasters that we witness every year. As it is a coastal state its more vulnerable towards cyclone. In the last cyclone fani our state has lost approximately 2000 cr property. Likewise every each year a cyclone hits the coastal districts and each year there an average loss of 50-100 cr properties. And its an economically weak state also. But some people are deciding its status only by seeing its capital and twin cities which actually creates a virtual impression towards state. Now the mostly visiting place of Odisha by the people of other states and foreigners i.e. Puri has been completely destroyed by the cyclone, which will result gradual decrease in the revenue collection. Don't know how many days/months/years will be needed to restore its beauty and infrastructures again. That's why including it in special category statues will help our state to again restand and fight with disasters.
