THe lantern with battery candle is a great idea. 3-5 of these lamps together would create a great corner with inviting mood light for a gathering.

I agree this is the best dollar tree hack I've ever seen. I think if I make the lamp I'll use henges on one of the frames so I can open the door. I'll probably use wood glue and brad nails as well.. thanks 4 the great ideas!
