This is a nice vintage Westinghouse variable-voltage with Type "E" black buttons, the classic “rubber-band” door-operator, and a loud motor generator. Despite this being from the 60s, this seems more like a 50s install, besides the fixtures, especially due to the doors stay-open when idle. I wonder if this did originally close, but then maybe the capacitor broke? As I've not seen this on any other 60s Westinghouse. But honestly I'm not sure. And either there was originally another elevator to the right of this, but for some reason, they decided to remove it some time ago, or they never installed it. I guess they thought the building doesn’t have enough traffic for 2. If you look outside the car, you’ll see a big gap between this elevator on the right side and the stairwell, plus if you look in the shaft, you’ll see the shaft for it’s there. But what really gives it away is it shows 2 elevators for the building floor-plans. .

Cool! Definitely odd how the door stays open parked there until you use it, which you usually see on Westy black buttons, not sure where this is. Is this the only install with black AE fixtures in Pittsburgh, or are there others? I would think there are more considering Westinghouse was based here.
