He was the king of kannada and indian film industry.Even Amitabh bachchan tried many times to get him to the bollywood to act with him or atleast for appearance in one scene but dr rajkumar didn't agreed because he took oath that he doesn't act in any other language films except our kannada language....just do research about him and you'll get to know about his legendary life and career

There’s a saying in kannada that goes “ listen to the old songs not for the visuals but for the audio and do Vice verse with the modern songs !”
This was one of the popular songs we have in the kannada cinema by Dr Raj. The visuals definitely need to be taken with a pinch of salt!

Legendary Kannada demi God DR Rajkumar sir. Dr Rajkumar was the only Indian Superstar to be honored with the Kentucky colonel award by the Govt of America. He was the first Indian actor to be honored with a doctorate. The only actor who won National awards for both acting and singing. Amitabh Bachchan films were banned by fans in Karnataka for 3 years because theatres took Amitabh films over Rajkumar films (because rajkumar fans created a ruckus in theatres by dancing in front of the screen, lighting lamps which resulted in the burning of a screen in a theatre, dancing etc). The only actor in the world for whose tickets people used to die in STAMPEDES. The only actor in the world for whom a government announced that his film release dates should not be announced because STAMPEDES will happen. Then people started sleeping in the theatres with pillows and rugs and STAMPEDES continued. Then finally govt announced that Rajkumar Sir film tickets should only be given IN race Course grounds. That was his craze. The only South Indian actor for whom Google gave a tribute through its Google Doodle. Indian govt released postal stamps in his name and picture to pay tribute to the legend.

Would like to see you react to more of Dr RAJ KUMAR- Baanigondu Elle Yellide, Ninade Nenapu, Navaaduva Nudiye, Nadamaya. Kannada cinema of 1970s and 80s had some of the most beautiful songs... the list would be endless.

Amitabh bachhan ran towards Dr rajkumar to greet and escort him when he came to know he is visiting the movie set where film shooting was going on, and stopped movie shooting for few hours to speak with him. Such a legendary actor rajkumar was, the golden man of Indian cinema

You should go through his biography..his humble lifestyle . The respect he garnered by not entering politics when scions of political parties made a beeline to his house to join their parties. There cud be no one in Karnataka who will dislike him. Rajini, Big B, Chiranjeevi, Dileep Kumar..when these personalities revere him that exemplifies the gravity of the person, actor, singer. In all probabilities you would not laugh once you would learn this and see his body of work.
