This hits the same as Nepo babies being like “all you need to do to succeed is to work hard!”

When this woman acts as if she isn't one of those people:

But seriously, you are gorgeous

Eh, I... okay, I know this is an unpopular opinion. Feel free to respond with your own, the more fresh perspectives the better. But... as someone who's not conventionally attractive myself, I don't think this message loses value just because it's coming from someone with pretty privilege.

Half the time, people we assume are "naturally beautiful" only look that way because they felt intense pressure to conform. That goes triple if you work in an image-obsessed industry. Thousands of hours poured into perfecting their makeup technique, learning to style their clothes, working out, starving themselves, sometimes going so far as to reconstruct their whole face... long past the point of it being harmless self-expression.

Do they have pretty privilege? Oh, absolutely! Does that necessarily mean they're being performative when they say things like this? Eh... maybe some are? But maybe others really do believe it. Maybe after all the effort to become "perfect, " they learned the hard way that surface-level beauty by itself doesn't bring fulfillment, and they don't want us to feel the same pressure they've spent so much of their own time and money being crushed under.

I'unno, maybe I'm overthinking it. Anyway, TLDR, if someone who downs thirteen Harvey Wallbangers a night says "You should find healthy coping mechanisms, not rely on alcohol, " maybe that's exactly the person you *should* believe! Haha
