Looks a lovely cake.
A tip for future cakes, is if you turn the cake upside down the bottom will be totally flat and you won’t need to trim.

Great job. I made all mine in october too.
I havr marizpan and iced all of the ones i made for gifts [all ten of them] and guess what... mines still to do 😂
My mam uses proper icing (royal) but i much prefer readyroll fondant.

We made our own marzipan and I think ready made is the best way. Making a christmas cake was one of the things Mrs K wanted to do on her bucket list.
