How to Remove Watermarks Tutorial| Photoshop CS5

@oliveguss click and hold on the quick selection tool icon, then just click the magic tool icon

you could use the magic wand tool to select or if u wanted to you could just directly use the rectangular Marquee to select, its not as good (maybe its better on some occasions) but it gets job done - thumbs up so everyone knows

@Bobby1Mcmanus lol yeah ;P but thats on a video. this is a picture using two different programs and it is a lot harder to do on a video. seeing as what will be under the watermark will be changing every second.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here, but it seems (to me) that you're missing a step somewhere, as whenever I go and press shift with the magic wand everything gets covered - trial and error for me I believe, just seems there's something missing somewhere (for me anyhow).

Just make the watermark massive.. or distort the image with a blur or a pixel blur..

that *ISNT* a watermark, it's white text. A watermark is where the brightness changes for the watermaked lettering or logo etc- but the image behind the mark is basically still there.

this method would work great for the ocean, sand or another terrain, but it does'nt work that well for pictures of more detail like a living thing or something like a car

Jedw, its only copyright infringement if a person uses that watermark image commercially or publically. If its a personal use then its within the law and besides photographers nowadays can stop a picture from being saved and  downloaded if they want to.

@wiremuwhittaker teaching a method of using photoshop isn't crappy to achieve a specific effect. Don't get pissed at this guy for teaching a method. Get pissed at the people who use it for the wrong/illegal purposes. You said yourself "Removing a watermark isn't illegal in itself". I don't see this guy showing you how to do it and then saying "okay, now put it in some commercial material and call it your own".

it didnt work. it messed up everything. you think if i sent you the photo you could work on it its a screen shot from one of my old phones and i want the photo but i dont have that photo anymore.

@ItsRecycled of course not but there must be a million different ways to teach it rather than tell somehow how to help ruin a photographers livelyhood.
