You forgot to mention a really important foundational fact about Goldman sacs in the very beginning- they started to revive the small businesses that were being denied loans because they were Jewish; it was the discrimination of Jewish people that gave rise to the bank. Goldman said fine if they won’t fund us we will. That was the start. Super important to understand.

Thank you for this video. I would like to add that Hank Paulson managed to sell his entire stake in Goldman's stock and stock options prior to his appointment as Secretary of the Treasury when the stock was near its pre-GFC peak. On top of that, the Bush administration also created a loophole so Hank can conduct the sale without having to pay any capital gain tax, as an incentive for him to come join the administration.
