I have one, it was my first car, I bought from a junkyard and it had rust, no muffler and a leak on the roof but it drove amazingly well, I bought it as a throw-away car to get me from A to B, but it became an amazing companion, so I restored it and stll drive it, even with 280000 miles I love it and I'll never sell it.

Used to watch this show religiously with my dad. Who knew I would actually own this car someday? I pamper that thing though, I wouldn't dare run it through the gauntlet like this!

late 80s to y2k was the best time for German cars like these.

"The roof is too heavy for the women who will be driving this car" Oh boy, I can imagine how that would go over if this thing came out today.

3:55 absolutely no dive on high speed braking. These truly set the bar. They don’t mention the convertible top but it was several layers sound and temp insulation. Wonderful sporting cabriolet.

Love our '87 E30 convertible, it's such a fun automobile. And I used to watch MotorWeek religiously with my dad back in the day. It's almost a little surreal to see my car on here.. the sounds and performance numbers are pretty similar to ours (all stock, no modifications). Funny to see porn-'stache guy struggling to put the top down like we did when we first bought it. Lol

I LOVE the BMW theme this week & really think you should consider themed weeks for all the Retro Reviews.  You know, Acura Week, Buick Week, Chevrolet Week, Dodge Week, Ford Week, Honda Week, etc.

Miss my e30 convertible bad, such a great car, great stickshift, great heated seats, well designed top, room for 4 and a good size boot, didn't leak in the rain.. The only failing is that they look bad with a roll bar.

I had a 1987 325i Convertible. It was a great car. Traded it in for a 1995 325 I convertible 5 speed. That car was literally perfect. I made the UNFORTUNATE decision to replace that 1995 with a 2005 SLK. I had the 1995 for 10 years. It was not in need of replacement and I was concentrating on my education at the time, no money for cars. What A PILE OF GARBAGE the SLK was!!! After having that for a little over two years, I ordered a 2007 328i hardtop, which was BOUGHT BACK by BMW 6 months after delivery because of an issue with the hardtop convertible. I replaced it with a 2008 335i convertible and that was junk because of the fuel pump issues. I kept it until I got a Porsche Boxster S in 2010. Kept that until 2013, got a Mercedes E550 convertible. That v8 was pure driving finesse. Traded the 2013 for a 2019 E53 Convertible. I miss my v8, but this EClass is the best car I've ever owned, and as you can tell, I've had many cars. I've had a convertible and a family car both at the same time. My "family" car currently is a 2019 Panamera 4s

Bought this car 3 years ago it was a mess missing electronics and different engine, but today after using some hard earned cash 218hp from the e36 engine new radio sport suspension which also makes it a true low rider

I have two of these a 1988 and a 1990. Both convertibles. They run forever. I drive the 1990 to work everyday. The mechanics at BMW what to buy them off me and I I get notes left on the windshield all the time.
