California plane crash: small plane crashes into South Lake Tahoe house - TomoNews

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CALIFORNIA — A small plane crashed into a house in South Lake Tahoe, California on Saturday.

Authorities said a Beech 35 Bonanza plane with two people on board took off from Lake Tahoe Airport at around 5:30 p.m. local time on Saturday and crashed into a house shortly after take off, CBS 13 reported.

Two people were reportedly inside the house, located in the 1600 block of Tionontati Street in South Lake Tahoe, at the time of the crash, Reno Gazette-Journal reported. No one inside the house was injured.

The condition of the two people on board the plane remains unclear. The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash.

My family owns a cabin in South Lake Tahoe, and me, my mom, and my aunt were visiting for the weekend when this crash occurred. I was alone at the cabin when it occurred, my mom and aunt across the stateline at the Walmart in Carson City, but I did not hear a thing, though it may have shook a pinecone loose that struck the cabin's roof. I can't be sure, though, because we didn't hear of the crash until the news that night.
