With regards to the rule of cool its a great design.

The engineering problems are numerous however

Cockpit, to low into the fuselage, pilot can't see behind them.

Air intakes are too small and poorly placed, if we compare it to the sr-71 its best the intakes be a straight shot into the engine.

The switchblade design puts A LOT of stress on the air frame and requires precision mechanics that can fail, also it limits the ordinance and fuel the plane can carry in the fuselage.
