Matanah means 'gift' in Hebrew but there is another very special meaning, it means Torah. Yes! The Matanah means The Gift as in the Gift of the Torah.

right on sister, I got interested in learning hebrew after watching rabbi kraft's videos. I plan on getting a hebrew english artscroll tanach and seeing if anyone at the local synagogue can help teach me. I have always felt a connection to the old testament even as a kid so I will be curious to read the full 24 books of the hebrew bible. I plan on reading apocrypha and pseudo-apocrypha as well. the book of enoch is extremely interesting. anyway shalom sister I wish you well on your spiritual journey.
