How to dock tails on a toy fox terrier puppy

Do you ever have a problem with the momma dog licking the tail open?

My current vet has done two litters for me. The first was sutured, licked open, re-sutured, opened again, and then finally stapled. It was momma dog's first litter so I let it slide and blamed it on the momma dog. Second litter, half the litter re-opened again after sutures. I'm pissed.

horrible and unbelievable, you have to accept the puppy the way he is... And that must hurt the dog you can't just do it because you want to.

we are trying to find a technique to use and i have come upon a few different. Can you tell me why you like the twisting off after clamping ? Does it provide better closure and finish look? different then cutting directly?

What scissors do you use to clamp the tail? No cut, just clamp. Correct?

Too short in my opinion. I much prefer the poodle long show dock. Stacked should be level with the head.
