Metallica - Mama Said FULL Guitar Cover

A much needed redo of this absolute masterpiece of a song. One of the very first songs off the Load album that got me hooked to this album. So much lyrical brilliance and emotional connection to this song that I needed to give this one another try.

There were many mistakes in the original cover I did about 6/7 years back and I always though I played the main acoustic rhythm part correct until recent when I saw another video explaining the rhythm section and I realized I played it incorrectly all these years. So I had to redo it all. Everything was a bit over compressed and lacking so here's what I did differently to correct it all:

1: Correct Tempo
2: Correct Drums
3: Correct Rhythm
4: Real Bass
5: Proper Mixing and Production
6: Included ALL the guitars
7: All Instruments Are Now Played Correctly

I used a plugin called Wavelore Pedal Steel to get that country vibe going in the chorus while I played the notes on guitar and mixed everything together. Never knew there was a slide guitar bit in the song until I heard the somewhat isolated vocals of the song where you can hear the slides.

All in all I'm very happy with this remake and it came out excellent.

Oh, you should clean up your playlists for Load and ReLoad. Only have the most recent versions of your covers and move the old ones to a different play list. It's a bit cluttered in there currently.

Aaand... It's amazing. It turned out so brilliant.
To be honest, if I were Metallica I'd have taken out the distorted part at the end, because somehow doesn't fit well with the rest. But maybe creates a feeling of "clash" or tension which in hindsight is never out of place in a metal band. 😁
