I can read but usually I can not understand the meaning, However my level is intermediate now and I can't read newspapers and magazines because they have a lot of hard vocabulary. so sometimes I get frustrated but I say to myself that one day my English gets improved and I become fluent .

When I learn English, I learn most of the vocabularies with a phrase, collocation, synonym, opposite words ect... to improve my vocabularies. And learn grammar in order to improve my sentence structure.
Every time I listen daily conversation in English and repeat them to improve my listening and speaking skills and I'm always practice about pronunciation too but I can't read and write. When I start to read I found a new word that make me feel nervous and I lost my confidence. Writing practice make me also boring.😭

Native English speakers should speak as you both do. Btw, Oli you are my favourite English teacher in the internet. I've been improved my reading a lot with comic books and texts about another interests of mine, such as art, mythology, philosophy, etc. Read the subtitles in English while watching TV series, cartoons and movies helped me read faster plus memorizing pronunciation. My personal opinion about learning English is watching movies of child actor which I found extremely helpful because of their sweet voice and slow way of speaking not like adult that is first and difficult to understand eventually make me bored to watch .
And finally read some inspirational book to help us inspired and encourage with our dreams ! Good luck
