I could see that. Considering how we got a DKC remaster in January and getting a 3D game for Switch 2 in July, I can totally see them announcing Luigi's Mansion 4 considering its known for being graphically impressive on Each system its on.

The Switch 2 direct was clearly focused on games coming this summer and anything later than that was just getting the general “coming in 2025” treatment. So they’re definitely leaving room for another direct this year.

The 13th of september would be the perfect time to release it because it would be exactly 40 years after the first game released in Japan.

I'm excited for the Switch 2, but I feel like the lineup isn't as good as it could've been. What the lineup should've been is the open world 3D Mario game at launch, the new Mario Kart as the holiday game, & some other games like Metroid Prime 4, Pokemon Legends Z-A, a new Mario Sluggers & more.

I don’t know what the titles would be but I do expect Nintendo to announce two or maybe even three more games for the year. They gotta focus on the launch though and then announce things at the end of June, like you said, or in July.

OK, hear me out. I've had a theory since it was shown that DK is actually made by Next Level games. The game isn't a giant open world game. It's decent sized explorable levels but there is a linear progression between layers. I think if Next Level took the Odyssey engine and added terrain deformation that team could be capable of producing DK.

Well with sequel of the Mario bros movie coming out next year maybe a new open world Mario game could be announced this year and release in 2026

It should be noted, though, that the user manual app should not be counted as a "game" title. It's also terrible that they want to charge any money for that user manual app.
