YouTube has a new AI feature that will reply to comments on your channel. How impersonal! I thought the whole point of comment/reply was human interaction. What is the point of this?

Ditto! If I leave a comment, it's me. I haven't even turned on the AI features on this Pixel 8 phone I bought a few months ago. There are two reasons I haven't done it. One, I don't know exactly what it does or offers? And two, I think that it's going to start charging me in February if I keep using it. Gemini or some name like that is the name of the AI on the Pixel 8 but I'm not going to use it until I either understand more or find out I'm not going to be billed $20 a month or who knows how much to use it in a couple of months. I don't need it to begin with. The only AI I have been using is the stuff that somebody else has created or purchased, like where you click on the summarize this video button, and that's it. On this Pixel 8 phone it is advertised as being an AI ready or AI phone. I have no idea what that means exactly as far as how it will work yet? I don't want something to write for me, and I'm blind, or for it to make decisions for me. I am very hesitant to do anything that involves AI because I don't know what that will entail or what it will even wind up costing if it is helpful.

Now for people who don't seem to have enough energy (or are just too lazy) to type "OK" so they just type "K', please feel free to use AI as much as possible so that I can at least feel like I'm talking with someone that can speak or write 🤔 Technology has advanced enough to allow you to type more than 128 characters in a message and you don't have to abbreviate every possible word anymore!
