Tory mom had die so I have a feeling the writer gonna make her the better fighter and beat Sam this season. But overall Sam is still the better fighter because she practically beat Tory in every other season. However Tory is definitely the better character especially her character arc for this season

As fighters they might be even, with a slight edge to Sam due to experience. Tory is naturally more talented, considering she has only been formally trained a few years. As characters, Tory has the better arc. That’s due to the writing. Sam’s character is likeable, but also very predictable.
