Shattered by Centrifugal Force! #shorts

preview_player
Показать описание
Never attempt to spin an object at high speed without knowing its maximum limit, as centrifugal force can be extremely dangerous.
As shown, this skateboard wheel shattered when spun at high RPM using a waterjet.
In fact, a CD that breaks due to centrifugal force is capable of piercing through plywood.
In slow-motion footage, you can see the CD easily slicing through a watermelon, splitting it apart.
In another experiment, a car tire exploded instantly when it was spun up to 10,000 RPM.

Assuming a car tire diameter of 80cm, it would have to run at approximately 418m/s or 1, 508km/h to reach 10, 000RPM. Yes, supersonic. So don't worry about that.

Vides from other creators... idk about the bearing with the compressed air.
The first cd exploding was the slow mo guys
The skateboard wheel is the waterjet channel
And the tire exploding at 10k is garage 54.

Centrifugal is a force based on the frame of reference (shoutout to Physics textbook), and is also a type of Pseudo Force (a false force)
The actual force acting on the body is called Centripetal Force...
I've seen many people say that Centripetal is opposite of centrifugal, which is incorrect..
If both are equal and opposite, then we get a linear motion.

That was a pioneer LaserDisc, not a CD, LaserDiscs are about 12” in diameter, or about the size of a 33.3 rpm vinyl LP.

I learned on physics that centrifugal force doesnt really exist and its just the inertia an object has during circular motion. I might be wrong with this description but when an object rotates quickly force tangent to it is made and the inertia of that object changing that tangential motion creates what we think is centrifugal forces.

Just for the reference. If the tire has diameter of 18inch then 10000 RPM would be 1740 km/h

I had a CD explode in my drive last year. It was a loud bang. I couldn’t eject it, so I had to screw the drive open. The peaces were really small and the aluminum had delaminated from the disc into small pieces of confetti. I didn’t get hurt, but I may need to rebuild the drive.

Those who comparing those with car or bike, the speeds are not even close, the 10000 rpm in a car is for its engine but that tyre never go that fast, a 20 inch Tyre can go 1km/h in 10 rpm so if its going at 200km/h its like 2000rpm and cars made for more speed made differently

I think that's that same thing as gaslighting a human, on the psychological animalistic ego realm/plane of reality.

Centrifugal force is why that one guy was turned into that slice of meat at the South African Grand Prix in 1977

That tire was spinning at 19 km/second (roughly)

Fun fact, Bugatti had almost no problems making an engine that could get a car close to 300mph. The tires exploding during speed tests is what threw a wrench in the works

It's worth noting that centrifugal force doesn't actualy exist. You have a centripetal force and it's the inertia of the mass wanting to move tangentially to the surface that causes it to break away.

I love the way the steel wheel slides smoothly forward and leaves a trail of sparks, it was very satisfying.
