What Oberyn wanted was only justice for his poor sister and her children ..

At least Oberyn got what he wanted ... Made Gregor confess and gave him the most painful death. He got his revenge.

Oberyn was wise to use a spear which kept him away from Gregor and gave him an edge but he became emotional after incapacitating him and got too close which gave the Gregor the chance to overpower him.

I'll never forget that scene... I don't know why I expected anything else after watching Ned's head drop.
But man, that pained scream... fuck.

I like how we're told all these gruesome facts only for the narrator to say "anyway, subscribe for more."

Season 4 was actually the first season I watched of Game of Thrones. I knew Oberyn would bite it, but holy shit I was not prepared for how viscerally brutal it was.

Oberyn was a brother, an uncle that only wanted to deliver Justice. An incredible character, along with the Hound, Arya and, to certain point, to Tyrion, before Tyrion became a shadiw of himself, at least in the books...

Headlock punches from The Mountain, until your head is mush, might be worse than how Oberyn died in the tv show.

And in the book, he DID wear a helmet. Didn't matter

I loved show Oberyn. I was so sad to see him go. At least he got debatably the coolest death scene in the series. I’m thankful they gave Pedro Pascal his big break too cause I love him

He also inadvertently caused Tywin's Death, as Jaime witnessing the extents that Tywin was going with Tyrion's trial caused him to intervene and save him, which of course ended up with Tyrion killing Tywin before leaving.

I mean he did beat the Mountain in combat.
If you have the enemy on the ground at your mercy, you won.
But yeah the gloating still got him killed.

Bro, you have the most peaceful voice. I can listen to you speak about this story that we are never going to get a conclusion from forever.

He was irogant. And let his anger get him. The mountain was dead. Tywian was the real target.

I knew that Oberyn still won the fight because he killed The Mountain when he stabbed him with his poisoned spear and Tyrion vomited with disgust after Oberyn's skull was crushed.

He got to cocky and filled with emotions, was his mistake

Hated this scene. Impaled through the chest with a poisoned spearpoint. The mountain would have one or two collapsed lungs, possible a heart or aortic laceration, had a chest cavity filling with blood and would have been in shock and dead in a matter of seconds. On the tv version he’d been down for almost a full minute before summoning the strength
To crush a man’s skull.
