I came to see if they gave Aahmose her due credit. They *sorta* did. The whole "Crete" thing is kinda iffy, but in reality after receiving the mutilated corpse of her husband, she gave support to her brilliant son, who defeated the Hyskos frequently in battle, but died just before the final assault on Avaris.

Her last remaining son was under age & there was talk in Thebes about replacing him. A few minor cities revolted, as well.

Aahmose took up her sword and vanquished the rebels, shamed the Theban nobles, & held the kingdom together until Ahmose could take charge. Even as he was destroying Avaris & chasing Hyksos up the Leventine Coast, Aahmose had to call out her chariots to put down trouble in the south.

There was truly no other "Warrior Queen" in Egyptian history (Hatsepshut was in battle, ofc, but not anything big). She should be more prominent in stories of the New Kingdom.

Nice video but Ahmose didnt fight the hyksos in 17 bc he reign in 15 bc.
