I honestly enjoy these behind the scenes videos just as much as the final product.

The tape measure was brilliant, would've never picked up on that!

The best line in this video is “to get all the failures out of the way” 😊

So true of the “writing is rewriting” approach to creation.

The moving stripes are ingenious. simple and effective, yet they show how much you understand about human perception

I did not even notice the police chair until later. The hair and shirt 'blowing' were important features to sell it. I noticed the gear shift 'changed' somehow in the forward motion, but it was not clear how. Very much enjoyed this and the tech behind the scenes, and came here thanks to Tom Scott. Well done.

Great breakdown. It underscores the amount of planning, logistics, and attention to detail required to create stop motion content. Fun stuff! 👏👏👏

I noticed the bit at the beginning with the "gear shift" being a different object, but I couldn't for the life of me figure out what you'd used!! 😂I rewatched that part like a hundred times trying to figure it out. I eventually made a guess that you had used a computer mouse, based on the seams/shape, but even that didn't seem right. SO glad you touched on that in this breakdown.

Kevin, I am very impressed with this animation. I have done stop animation myself and I know how difficult it is. I wish you many more videos with stop animation!

This was one of Tom Scott’s best recommendations in his newsletter. This is a very cool video.

It's really interesting to learn how you incorporate storytelling and storyboard it out.
I don't make videos anything like this, but I think those techniques are useful for any kind of video creation.

I don't know why, but this video in particular has felt like one of the most insightful ones I've seen in terms of the value of combining so many little techniques. The subtle pattern you threw in there really blew me away because it really does just perfectly complete the illusion!

This was incredibly instructive. You are making me regain my passion to keep making videos.

I thought the stripes on the floor were part of some elaborate lighting effect while taking the photos 🤯 That's a genius post production detail. Thanks for the bts!

This is so clever and well done! The amount of work moving the entire room every few frames is insane! Kudos!
