Morocco Vs France: The First War (1844) PART 1

In 1830, the French arrived on the shores of Algeria with the aim of seizing control of its abundant resources. Emir Abdelkader, a youthful leader of the Algerian state, perceived this incursion as a peril to his people. In response, he sought assistance from Morocco, which chose to back him. Nevertheless, this choice provoked France, resulting in a declaration of war against Morocco and initiating the "First Moroccan War." The two empires subsequently clashed intensely in their bid for supremacy over these territories.
