Goodfellas is a freaking Master piece. Amazing cast, music, and everything else. Ray Leota played Henry Hill like one of the best! He will be sadly missed.

My Blue Heaven is actually based loosely on Henry Hill's post-mob life. Nora Ephron, who wrote that movie, was married to Nicholas Pileggi, who wrote Wiseguy, on which Goodfellas was based. So, she heard some of the tales from the real Hill's life after entering the Witness Protection Program.

Don't let Henry Hill fool you.He was envolved in murders and he was fully involved in the Mob lifestyle.He got in trouble again when he was in the witness protection program and was still talking to his mob buddies.He was envolved with fixing college basketball games.

I read an interview article from Henry Hill's wife, Karen, in a copy of Hustler magazine. She would share her awful experience living with Henry during the witness protection program about how his drug addiction got worse and how the people managing the program did not care about the family's wellbeing.

Jimmy Burke should have his own film. I've been researching mobsters for years and in a world of gangsters, you couldn't get much more gangster than Jimmy The Gent. Even Gotti feared that guy

Michael Franzese is mentioned in this movie. He ended up as caporegime in the Colombo family and earned more money than anyone else in the mafia since Al Capone.

They had to play down Joe Pesci and Robert DeNiro’s characters to make them more sympathetic. Jimmy Conway (Burke) was a cruel loan shark/numbers guy, Tommy Devito (DeSimone) was a homicidal psychopath. Also, in the movie: Tommy (played by Pesci) was a half-pint trying to prove himself. In real life he was about 6’ and built like a truck. Very few people doubted his ability to cause pain and those who did regretted it.

I watched Goodfellas again over the weekend while I was sick. The film is a masterpiece...and the soundtrack!! Perfection all around...🖤🖤

Goodfellas in my opinion is the best gangster film of all time. I loved this movie more than The Godfather. This movie is sheer brilliance. Scorsese’s crowning achievement. It’s in my top 10 favourite movies of all time. Will forever be a classic masterpiece. Brilliantly acted, written, shot and directed! Still don’t understand why this didn’t win Best Picture at the Oscars oh wait DWW won the BP Oscar for me undeserved.
