All of the initial impressions for the 2020 Supra are in so I thought I would share my experience in what I learned about trying to buy one. I am interested to see if some of you had the same experience.

In Ireland we have to pay 81k for the 2020 supra (30k in vehicle registration tax)

I work at a Toyota dealership as an ASM and the launch addition is undoubtedly going to the owners. I’m hoping to get the 3.0 Premium, I don’t need the launch edition. We’ll see what the details are. Not getting a lot of info at this point.

i'm friends with many Toyota dealership owners, gms, gsms and sales managers, launch edition definitely going way over MSRP, only way to stop that is from Toyota themselves capping dealerships, other than that, Toyota dealerships are all privately owned, they can sell it for however much they want to sell them again unless Toyota steps in and caps the price... it'll be a bidding war for launch edition, whoever is willing to pay the highest, they will get them.

No way am I paying over MSRP. I doubt I would even pay MSRP.

Just wait after the 1st year models get sold for over MSRP. Wait for the bugs to be worked out and probably get it for under MSRP when sales slow down.

Here in Australia, the Toyota Supra pricing was officially announced by Toyota Australia yesterday. Our top spec model will be known as the "GTS" which has the 19" wheels, leather seats, 12 speaker JBL stereo, 8.8" infotainment system, essentially this is the same as the 3.0 Premium in the US market. Our price is so much more expensive compared to the US & UK markets. The GTS will sell for $104, 679 AUD ($71, 945 USD). In Australia we will only be receiving an allocation of 300 units in the first 12 months. It will be sold in 3 stages/batches over the next 12 months, all via online/internet. The first 100 units will be offered for sale next month and delivered in Sept/Oct this year, all will be selling for our RRP, so there will be no haggling by customers, or overpricing by dealers, all lucky successful online buyers will be paying the same price. I'm thinking whether I should get red or yellow.

I'm a salesman at a Toyota dealership and I've been asking about the Supra about every other week. 50k over MSRP is outrageous, I would expect it to be about 5k - 10k depending on the market area similar to the TRD Pro. Also yes, we haven't been getting too many details. From what I've heard is that we're getting 4 total for 2020 MY, one launch and three other trim levels. Also addressing the 335 hp and 365 lb-ft, I think it was Car and Driver dyno'd it and got 339 hp and 427 lb-ft AT THE WHEELS! Severely underrated by Toyota

Love to see you grow, as an ST owner I hope you're able to get one to grow your channel (no doubt it would)! You produce great content and would absolutely benefit from a car that not many people own or are able to own (at least in the first year or so). I first got into @Streetspeed717 because the C7 Corvette was an amazing car and a dream of mine, I wanted to know more. As an enthusiast no doubt you'll love the car. I think the price point is great for enthusiasts and I'm holding out hope that I'll be able to get one when they come out with a 6 speed version!

Two doors sport cars don't sell in big numbers. Just wait a year and you'll be able to buy one at a few grand off the sticker price. Not just pricing, there will be fixes, improvements done to the car; good things come to those who wait. No dealer salesman knows anything about the supplies from Toyota. The straight shooter you mentioned is shooting straight for your wallet.

If you're just buying to own, it's always best to buy the 2nd year version of the car when they fix at least some of the bugs.

I work for Toyota ( factory ) and we won't get any discounts on the Supra for a year or so. They are trying to sell every car for full price or more. Guess I'll be getting one in 2/3 yrs

If you get a yellow car, people on the sidewalk won’t be waving to you in approval, but to hail you as they’ll mistakenly take you as a NY cab.

I spoke with Toyota Reps as well and they were SUPER LOST. Looks like the Corp hasn't spoken with their dealer reps. Do you think the head's up display is worth it the extra 3-4k? Im in between the base and 3.0 premium but i'm guessing the MSRP will be marked up 4K at least.
