I'm a singer too, but I've always had a horsed throat. I suffer from acid reflux and sometimes when I'm singing junk comes up into my throat. My doctor has prescribed two acid reflux reducers and so far they've been working very well. Sometimes when I over sing I would get pain from my throat all the way up to one of my ears. So I'd have to stop singing for a few days. I don't know why but for years I didn't do this all the time, but sometimes if I am singing and I got junk in my throat I'd get so mad and punch it. I don't do it anymore now that I'm on those medications, but I was just so sick of dealing with it. But now it's doing better. Those medicines really help me sing a whole lot better than I did in the past.

Oml, I was able to do the song "Emotions" by Mariah Carey. (I couldn't go up to A4 and above anymore. lol, my voice was basically as how high Ariana Grande's voice could go up to. But not anymore) Which was disappointing. I woke up one day with a voice that couldn't go as high as it used to. I tried to sing and it was completely cracked up. I wasn't sure I had damaged my vocal cords, but it seemed like it. So I waited a couple of days to see if my voice was just sore but nope, Still the same cracked up voice. I told my mom I couldn't speak properly without a voice crack, but she said that I could be sick or something. I'm having a feeling I damaged my vocal cords. I also loved my voice, it was my favorite features of my body. I don't know what to do now. Should I see a doctor? Thank you for taking your time to read this or if you just skipped to the end, I'm going to cry in my closet now. Bye.

What about me sounding perfectly clear but when I sing alot or many high notes, my vocal cords feel tight, exhausted, sometimes sore and I have to stop singing?

My talking voice sounds whispering and a quite low (People always ask me to raise my voice volume -_- and I hate it) but when it comes about singing, my voice sounds dark and clear (sometimes hoarst and sounds whisper). But I admit that I can't belt a note up to A4-C5 and above and I crying about that 😢 but I can go low to E2 and up to F6 (My most comfort range was F6, and not comfort while sing in G6) I think my voice are totally damaged because previously, I use to sing high note songs and I keep force my voice to reach the real key (It sometimes female key) and I know, that's the source of my vocal damage. Or, I think, it damaged because of, I use to strain my voice with F6 (it really destroy my voice)

Thanks Freya! How do you care for your vocal cords?

for me my singing voice has lost range and stamina (like I can only hit one out of 20 notes). Also, my throat always feels sore.

I have been waking up with hoarseness for the past 8 years and it affects me throughout the day. Also, I can't sing like i use to. So difficult for me to go an octave up without experiencing hoarseness. I love to sing but this hoarseness is interfering. So frustrating😖 I am definitely going to get my vocal chords examined. Thanks for sharing this video. 👍💕🌷🌸

My vocal range was:
Low note: F3
High note: A5

My voice changed a bit. I also think that I damaged my voice. When I want to clear my throat, I can't, when I want to sing, I struggle with high and low notes a bit but my vocal range is still the same. Did I damage my voice or it's something else like puberty maybe??? (I'm 14 btw)

I've been singing wrong for years, and my throat hurts so bad, my singing is all breathy when I go to mid notes and high notes, and my low notes are better but I don't know if I'm using chest voice and if I am if I'm using it right at all. My speaking voice is fine, not breathy, it's clear for the most part, other than it being a bit hoarse from my sore throat. But, I just want a nice singing voice again, and I don't know if I'm doing anything right at all. I don't know if I'm even doing a chest, head or mixed voice at all. I want to have a nice singing voice and not hurt so much anymore.

Well, this is the second time I’ve damaged my voice. I achieved that by shouting super aggressively, with force. Don’t do it, it sucks when you can’t sing or even talk properly for at least a months. :/ Be safe!

P.s.: Be sure to check out my covers, guys! xx

Well I guess mine might be damaged, when I was around 8-10 I used to do some super high pitch max volume squeaks and then I wasn’t able to do them later on. Now when I speak people find it hard to understand me or even hear me sometimes :c

I can't scream or I'll strain my vocal cords. I also have asthma and it's difficult and discouraging to sing or voice act. I honestly at this point feel like giving all the way up.
