Morag Tong can literally show up anywhere, flash a writ, then go about their business unhindered so long as they aren't seen in the act. Fecked up, but I can respect that they have standards.

You are working to hard with Morrowind assassin. You don't need a writ, you need to just taunt any one into attacking you, and throw the first punch, you incinerate the s'wit, and bam: self defense.

Daggerfall assassinations, I've found, basically amount to sprinting at full speed swinging a claymore at everything because nobody thought that the True Invisibility effect might be a little overpowered.

If I have to present the writ to a guard then I just feel like I messed up when I'm assassinating someone in Morrowind. So I'll reload until I kill the target with no bounty. I'm an assassin of the Morag Tong not your average murderer. When I am done no one other than the person who gave me the mission to assassinate the target should know that I was the assassin otherwise it brings dishonor to the Morag Tong.

Now for Oblivion I usually do the thieves guild quests first so I'll do almost the whole Dark Brotherhood questline as the Grey Fox and do any assassination where I'm not limited to doing it a certain way as the Grey Fox so I can murder them and just take off the mask and walk right out the gate. Grey Cowl of Nocturnal really is the perfect tool for an assassin.

Skyrim I'm just there for Cicero Nazir and Babette anyway so I'll just walk right up to the target and decapitate them and then play the fine. Skyrim Dark brotherhood just feels like a band of psychopaths more than a guild of assassins. So I'll act like it.

In Morrowind, you can just insult them til they attack you first. Ain't self defense a beautiful thing. Also silent casting plus fury in skyrim and grey cowl in oblivion are awesome.

This is if you don't wanna play as the overpowered assassin in Oblivion, but yeah the NPC AI kinda massively sucks when it comes to trying to make them eat poisoned apples, usually have to steal literally all food in vicinity to force it. In Oblivion, you can just speed run a few oblivion gates to, save scum the sigil til you get Chameleon Sigils and get 110% chameleon on a full set of Armour (the -5% enchant of Armour will reduce it 104.5, still over 100%). Basically undetectable in Oblivion, except by scripts.
