As far as games line up goes for Switch 2, I’m thinking Mario Kart, something small like Pilot Wings, Metroid Prime 4, FE 4 Remake, a new in house IP, a warriors game, Legends Z-A, 3D Mario, and the Legacy title for 2025. For 2026 I’m thinking Kid Icuras, Kirby, new F-Zero, DK, Splatoon 4, Mario Spinoff, Xenoblade X DE, 2D Metroid, OOT Remake, and Gen 10 Pokemon. Yeah I’m actually placing money on a brand new F-Zero game happening year 2, call me crazy all you want 😂

12:06 - that would mean more DLC or some sort of expansion pack for the game. You'll never see this roster for Super Smash Bros in a new game. The reason being, Nintendo had to negotiate for the rights to a lot of third party IP to make it happen. I doubt they would want to do that again.

You know what would be funny. That most AAA third party games become so expensive to make that the third parties will prefer to make the nintendo switch 2 version first and then upgrade it for the other consoles if it is succesful. I mean, i am not a game programmer but I am pretty sure that it is easier to upgrade a game ( with the appropiate hardware) than donwgrade a game to make it run in a weaker hardware.

Considering the financial success of The Super Mario Bros Movie, and the deal with Illumination meaning there's more coming, I can see the stars getting special treatment.

Off the bat, a new 3D Mario and Luigi’s Mansion 4 will either be launch titles or released early on into the new console's lifespan.

Unfortunately for Star Fox it all depends on the switch 2 itself. Does the switch 2 have a hardware gimmick that miyamoto thinks will work with StarFox. If not then it will be the Wii all over again.

The only way i can see this not being the case is if Miyamoto changed his strategy to match nintendos strategy with their other IPs

Regarding Zelda franchise, i believe it’s follow indeed that line and have a remake of oot ready for the second year of switch 2 and nearer the live action movie.
And on the first year I can totally see a new Hyrule Warriors game so we can have the first contact with Zelda franchise in the new generation as well the rumored upgraded version for botw

I definitely think Sakurai is working on the next Smash, and would be great if most of the characters come back. And surely the next Mario Kart has been ready and finalised for a couple of years now. Hopefully we hear something soon!

Despite all the exclusives, how long do you think they will support OG Switch? Unless there is new functionality like dual screen for the smaller, graphically non-demanding games, they should continue to release as "all-Switches" games, like Mario Party or countless remasters yet to arrive.
