I have a '21 Sonata Limited and a '22 Sonata N Line. I love them both because even though they are the same they are Completely different. The Limited is my daily driver because of all the extra Safety and comfort features and I hop into the N Line on the weekend when I feel like being a little mischievous behind the wheel!

I went into the market to get a Kia K5 GT but after test driving both cars I was instantly smitten with the Glowing Yellow N-Line. I love my new car and it’s a hell of a lot of fun to drive.

I get more complements on this car than I do on my Challenger R/T. Both are great cars but I am super glad I got the N-Line over the K5.

Thanks for the breakdown in the video.

We only get the N line this time in Australia for some reason.
It has rear blind and manual rear door blinds, heads up display, heated and cooling front seats and heated seats in rear, 360° camera, panoramic sun roof, and blind spot cameras.I took it for a drive and I'm trading my 2016 sonata and definitely getting the N line.

Little lag, actually 5 mph to 60 mph in sport plus mode is 5.2 seconds. We have one in fleet, with 4 row intercooler, larger exhaust, and an integral paxton mounted above drive belt with 5.8 psi. So it is QUICK.

A lot of the American you tube reviewers talk about the n-line not having the 360 degree camera or the memory seats like they offer on the limited trim. I believe Hyundai has left these items off to keep the price point down to stay competitive with the Accord 2.0T, Mazda 6 turbo and the Toyota TRD. The Aussies get the best trim. Their n-line gets some features we don't get here. I would have loved the 360 degree camera, the turn signal dash cameras and the powered passenger seats but I don't mind not having the memory seats, rear power shade, manual rear passenger shades, cooled seats and driver side storage net behind the seat. The Aussies do have the nicest version but their cost is about 5 grand more than we pay here. If the American N-line had these options it would place it near the BMW's and Audi competition and would not sell.

What did you do to get the dials so different at 2:32 compared to 13:08 ?

I'm curious about two things. How is the ride with the sport suspension in everyday commuting vs. an average sedan? Is the knitted material on the seats breathable in hot weather? Thanks.

I love my 2021 N line, Hampton Grey, only complaint is no tuner for the radio and I'm not a big fan of the push button shifter, other than that it's a great can, moves really well, and gets lots of looks and compliments

I've been around few over 5 decades, have lived thru many varieties of every sort of cars through those years: Big American Sedans, Europen models when they became the norm here, as well as Japanes cars when they started selling as well as Americans. After seeing SO Many variants of Autos over the years, I have to say Hyundai/Kia Have beaten ALL models from anywhere as far as Value, Reliability, Style, etc for the Money. Yup.

The 2.5L turbo motor the Sonata N-Line shares (as standard or optional) with (at my last count) at least 7 other KIA, Hyundai, and Genesis models is impressive. And the new DCT is apparently a significant upgrade (that the Sonata shares with several of those other vehicles) over Hyundai's previous efforts at a DCT. Unfortunately, the fly in the ointment is the absence of either AWD or at least a (mechanical or electronic) limited slip differential in the Sonata N-Line (or the KIA K5 GT) would allow the power of the engine to be transferred to the pavement without significant torque steer and wheel hop. A FWD sedan with almost 300 HP and over 300 ft lbs or torque and no means to transfer it efficiently to the wheels is writing a check an owner can't cash. Even a GTI with far less power provides an electronic LSD that gives it the reputation it enjoys for drivability coupled with performance.

The Sonata N-Line (and K5 GT) may satisfy the requirements for acceleration on flat pavement in a straight line that many Americans equate with "performance, " but it falls short when more complex requirements are considered.

Really thinking about this. As of right now I think this would be my 1st choice, but I'm interested to see what Mazda comes out with the new Mazda 6. Opinions? I live in the North with lots of snow in winter, and I really hate waiting XD.

Is the Sonata N-Line "the BEST New Sport Sedan?" It's impressive even with its flaws noted in another comment. But Lauren fails to mention the most obvious rival for that title, the KIA GT. There are so many shared features and components in the two vehicles that the choice really comes down to specific dealer experiences and one's taste in the overall looks of of the two.

I'll admit that Hyundai does a better job avoiding slapping unneeded creases and bulges on the Sonata than with a number of their other vehicles. At least it doesn't appear to be a descendant of a spaceship from a 1930's Flash Gordon movie serial. But comparing it to the K5, I'd opt for the looks of the KIA. YMMV.

P.S. An under the radar and unfortunately soon to disappear choice in the 4 door sedan category is the KIA GT-Line Stinger with the same engine as the Sonata N-Line and KIA K5 GT. (Its 8 speed AT is a conventional torque converter rather than a DCT.) It has the advantage of optional AWD, a "liftback" design, and a considerably more upscale interior for an MSRP of slightly over $40, 000. As a vehicle that comes close to the European concept of a GT (Grand Touring) sedan, it's a steal.

Car gets an 8.5 BOB score. 9 performance. My seat is not electronic because of my height.

nice review. i prefer the N in every model over the N line. here, however, they do give you the turbo 2.5L . Another example of why the so-called big 3 mostly got out of the car business. Even the hemi dodges are unreliable and reported to be easily stolen. 🤔🙄

I love the N Line on the Sonata, but the catfish grill on the other trims it’s just not doing it for me
