Volvo is one of the safest car brands in the world. Top-notch saftey and cool designs!

And yet the narrative in the media is that Volvo have lost their safety edge. More like others have reached feature parity, but the engineering is still a notch above

Wouldn't expect anything less from Volvo, the safest manufacturer in the world without contest.

I’m surprised that this thing aged well!

IIHS, do any automakers have rear seatbelt mounted airbags anymore? I remember Ford & Mercedes starting to put them into vehicles a few years ago, but i haven't heard anything recently. I think those would help a lot in this new test. Have you ever tested those seatbelt air bags at all?

Volvos are unreliable but extremely safe

Maximum chest index:
Lincoln Nautilus - 28 (Good)
BMW X5 - 30 (Good)
Genesis GV80 - 33 (Good)
………….
Volvo XC90 - 37 (Acceptable)
NOT acceptable for a Volvo.
My prediction for the Ford Bronco:
Chest Index - 22 (Good)

Hey Volvo! Look and BMW X5 test and see that your vehicle has a bunch of plastic stuff flying in the interior? Is it so hard to stress-test the fixators and latches holding plastic elements? It's poor engineering in details

A lot of comments regarding the fact that this model is from 2015/2016. But this rating for this crash test only applies to models from 2024!
