I feel like AFD will eventually get errata'd. It's a pretty iconic card, being one of the Signer Dragons, and it's currently banned in both territories, so it's not hard to see it coming back at some point

Good news: The 4th effect doesn't specify monsters on the field (the Japanese effect more accurately translates to "When you opponent activates a monster effect...") so it can hit hand traps and the like.
Bad news: the 4th effect IS a hard once-per-turn (it does say the 4th effect of cards with this name)

When the effect says "you can only activate the (x) effect of this card's name once per turn" it traduces into a hard once per turn clause. Replace "this card's name" with the actual card name, and you'll see what I mean.

I really like the design of the whole FA Archetype, I've been a fan of racing since forever and having a whole archetype based on just that (With anime style designs) is amazing. It's a shame they kinda suck but I still want to build a playable FA deck, I picked up a playset of most FA common cards just from a shitty 50 cent card box my local has so I know finishing the deck won't be expensive.

I guess I could build the old Ancient Fairy Dragon version and keep it just for fun...

This doesn't help the deck do what it needs to do, which is place monsters on board. I don't care for Fairy Dragon, and I'm glad it's gone. F.A needs cards that can swarm the board IMMEDIATELY. The deck only has 1 tuner, which has a summoning restriction and can only be summoned once per turn by it's effect. Resonators are good and all, but F.A. needs a way to do their synchro plays in-theme consistently, instead of having to rely on other archtypes. The archtype really needs another tuner, and monsters that can special summons others, like a F.A Summoner Monk, F.A Zombie Master, or F.A Storming Wynn style card. Reduce this card's level by 2, special summon 1 F.A monster from deck/grave/hand.

As for the battle damage, ya point to two L7 F.A.s (easy) and it has 4200 ATK. But if it points to Motor Home, along with something else, this thing gets to the equivalent of Level 20 (6000 ATK), with another 6000 from the monsters themselves that are giving it the boost.

I personally think that the best thing they could do for an F.A. Ancient Fairy Dragon replacement would be to make it a level 9. Either that or make it level 7 but exclusively search F.A. field spells and special summon F.A. monsters. I picked up the deck because of your videos and I really loved the playstyle. I just hope that it can get something in the future that'll increase it's playability. Keep up the good work.
