Karine Jean-Pierre dodges question on anti-Semitism in US

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre dodged a question from a reporter on the increase of anti-Semitism in the US with comments about Islamophobia in America.

Author Douglas Murray says the White House “can’t decouple” anti-Semitism and Islamophobia as the conflict between Israel and Hamas intensifies.

“They can’t just say ‘look actually the statistics such as we have shown that anti-Jewish hate crimes has massively peaked in all of our countries in the last fortnight, there has been no massive rise in Islamophobia,” he told Sky News host Rita Panahi.

“But by the way if they do want to talk about these two things they could mention the fact that if there’s any such thing as Islamophobia, it comes about because of the behaviour of radical Muslims”

“If the rest of the Muslims in the world want to do something about so-called Islamophobia, they could do something about the radical Muslims, that’s what I’d like to hear about from them.”
