It should have been aadhar number based and not mobile number based.
FOR EXAMPLE IF A PERSON HAVE MOBILE NUMBER BUT NOT REGISTERED ON HIS AADHAR NUMER but MAY BE REGISTERED ON HIS RELATIVE AADHAR AND IF HE WANTS TO CHECK WHETHER ANY SIM IS ISSUED ON HIS AADHAR NUMER in that case how he will check.

What's the point of checking phone numbers? Isn't that a good idea to rely on Aadhaar number which then show you the linked numbers with it...?

I think you are not aware of a supreme Court ruling its not compulsory to give aadhar number for a mobile connection, with any address and ID proof you can get a connection

Linking everything to Aadhaar, stupidity at it's best. This makes it easier for hackers, they just have to hack the Aadhaar portal, if they succeed they can access all confidential details about a person. BJP trying to be smart but ending up really stupid, just like how they replaced Rs. 1000 notes with Rs. 2000 notes, now criminals can carry twice more money with them.
