The rock always needs an open end to go out to. Also the pieces must be moved to allow for more hammering. We used a hydraulic feather and wedge that was inserted into a line of 30 inch holes drilled into the rock to create a fault line. That works pretty well but I have sawed on the rock like you with a series of parallel cuts 4 inches apart but it only goes 6 inches deep. That works too but tough work. Saw, hammer, move pieces and jump right back on the same area and saw more for 7 feet down by 40'x 20" .
Your work is real nice and thank you for sharing...

Looks like you need an attachment for your excavators to run a concrete saw or stone saw. Sit in the comfort of the cab listening to the stereo instead of breathing rock dust! Then you need a new shelter for all your attachments! Lol!!

Another fabulous video thanks Mr MM.
So high up it looks like you're working in the clouds. I'm intrigued by the roof ladder.

A 200 pair phone cable... yeah don't break that one, I went to a job once and the guys had just dug up and broken a 100 pair phone cable in a place they did not expect - the looks on their faces was priceless. Lucky for them the cable was very old and no longer used.

Love your videos, takes a lot of skill to work in tight spots like that.

Rototilt to the rescue again. Just wondering if you bolted rubber ( from old tires ) to the bottom of the clamp, if you would get better grip on the rocks. Great idea to cut channels in the rock so as to hammer out the shelf, I will keep this trick in mind. Looking forward to next part.

Hello from Russia. Make a review on the hitch which the stones were stacking, it is very interesting how it is arranged and how the hydraulic oil is transmitted through the gearbox to the grab. Is it possible to make takay from a reducer with a solar battery ???))) Good vidos, and content in. For more technical part
