First off with your map open you can move around, zoom, and ping locations for your teammates, dummy!

A more advanced tactic is to ping until you see a square highlight that means you found a secondary objective!

If you turn to look at it you can see the icon on your compass and figure out what kind of objective it is Sometimes you’ll also be able to see minor POIs just be hovering over them on the map,

but it doesn't work all the time so don't rely on it!

The next map pro tip is that a diamond gem symbol means the POI still has samples that can be picked up,

so be sure to check the surrounding area, Helldiver!

Finally a real EXPERT OF MAP DEMOCRACY uses their experience to read the map itself,

you can recognize buildings and other landmarks by their color, shape, or the presence of enemies!

Sometimes, the gem appears for areas without samples. I've looked all around them sometimes, and there's nothing there. I don't know if the bugs buried the samples, or automations hacked my map, though.

If you're lucky enough to get a SAM Site objective on a bots mission, do it early and quick. Once activated the SAM will periodically shoot enemy reinforcements out of the sky.

On rocky maps rember to check if a cliff will block your route to the objective. I have seen to many teams B-line for an objective not realising that there is a cliff that the need to go back to loop around on.

The gems sometimes don’t disappear until you read the clipboards at some of them as well.

Another tip, move all of the shells to the artillery before activating the station, pick up and drop also lets you move them faster as well, then when you activate the artillery you can load it up much faster if it spawns enemies.

If you double tap on the map to ping it will open a stratagem menu and you can use them and summon the stratagem wherever you want on the map this is extremely helpful but I don’t see enough people use this or even know this is possible

Using the scout armor, you can ping places along your route to see enemy density when going stealth build, or letting the team know how hot objectives are.

If you use the scout armor, you could randomly ping near the objective to check if there's enemy. Then you could just lob a arty or 500kg bomb to clear them first.

it is possible to locate the super sample rock in the map. look for a small silver square shape. most of the time when you mouse over it the label "minor point of interest" will appear but not always.

The smallest ennemy spawns on terminid planets are either a light bug nest or a spore spewer. Be sure to tag them to be able to deal with them from far away

When using the scout Loadout, drop the marker NEAR the object/target/intended route and not directly on it.

Bringing the fancy enemy pinging equipment then covering the pings beneath your waypoint is undemocratic.

Stalker nests are recognizable on the map as well.

The diamond dosent mean their is samples it means their is somthing of value like samples req, medals, super credit and support weapons

Another tip: you can change the map control scheme in the settings, so that you have full control over your diver while using it. It's uncomfortable to ping things that way (for example, my controls are on numpad, which is ofc worse than mouse control), but it's much more convenient to look at your map while actively moving.

Actual diamond 💎 means still samples but diamond shape ♦️means all samples in that area collected

The diamond icon thing can be a bit buggy, so bare that in mind, sometimes you’ll go up to a POI that has the icon but 0 samples anywhere.
