Although the lipping arrangements stay the same, this show gives me hope that she will slowly comeback to her 2023 arrangement soon, even pre-quarantine, as she attempted lots of adlibs here, and her energy was probably the best since LA 2023, which is an extremely good sign, seeing her actually enjoys the stage again makes me so joyous 😭😭😭

Idk how people say lip syncing in China is illegal?? I am a singer myself who happens to live in Shanghai and sing for a living. I was invited to sing for a local TV show in Beijing because Chinese shows sometimes like to invite foreigners to sing just because … hear me out what was the deal which I didn’t accept cuz it was too cheap since Shanghai is a 2 hours flight from Beijing and they wanted to pay what I do in one day in Shanghai for two days in Beijing. The deal was: Day 1: RECORD VOICES AT A STUDIO. Day 2: Record “live” video WITH THE PREVIOUS VOICES RECORDING. In Chinese new year, Chinese National tv have a big show that pretty much everyone in China watches, according to my ex (Chinese) it is NOT ALLOWED for invited singers (and even actors cuz they also have some theatre acting going on) to sing OR talk live cuz Chinese TV wouldn’t allow any tiny little mispronunciation whatsoever. So, it’s fake. In China is 100% legal to lip sync. And about Mariah, she was phenomenal, I went to the concert, but after some things I saw on the concert (some whistles sounding that no one was doing) I ended up googling does Mariah lip sync and honestly, it was a lil disappointing since I love her and I made the effort to fly all the way to Beijing just to check her live singing

I mean I’ll start with the positive. I do see more energy. She’s a little more engaging. What is live sounds healthy to me which since you really haven’t sung live I’m guessing that is to be expected lol. If she can just do a setting like what she does on Instagram when she releases little clips; I think it would be better. I would say anything above a C5 is a push for her now. You can have very strong lows and mids though if you just focus on that area. Drop all the keys and you can still give us something solid and mostly live.

Clearly she is having confidence issues or she is doing some insane vocal preservation because her voice is perfectly fine when she sings live. Her voice sounds clear and not tired. She seems happier than her last few shows she has done too. The problem the last few shows she's done is at least before she would make it believable but this year... she went through the effort of re-recording new vocals (win!) but without the energy to match it.

She sounds much better actually, pitch improved a lot, tone is closer to caution, overall more stable.
