Nature is incredibly beautiful. The world is full of many magnificent things. One of them is waterfalls, places where water falls off cliffs. One of the largest and most beautiful is Niagara Falls. It is among the world's largest and most famous waterfalls with Angel Falls, Iguazu Falls and Victoria Falls. Niagara Falls is a large water source that constantly falls from a 167-foot cliff and that attracts tourists from various countries, making this place very popular. But did you know that Niagara Falls was drained not so long ago, and that people could easily look at its bottom? What does a waterfall without water even look like? Today, you will learn who drained the waterfall, why it was drained, and other interesting facts about this wonder of nature that I'm sure no one has ever told you. We promise it'll be interesting.

1:14 "The Falls was discovered in the 1700's" like the humans that lived there for 10, 000 years never saw it or heard it. Thanks, White Europeans for showing the Natives where it was.

what is the (very annoying) point if injecting pointless totally unrelated video clips into this? Just show the falls and leave it at that.

The falls are fascinating, their geology intriguing, but they are only around 12, 000 years old and, no matter what we do, will not last forever. We've already cut the flow of water, but still the falls are moving. It is the way of geology.

These videos are First Class - very professional - both informative & entertaining. But, the continual showing of people between clips, with zero context to the subject, is both annoying & unprofessional.

How Ridiculous. Sheeple are so worried about the environment. Why not just leave it alone and and let nature take it’s course.

It's kind of hard to see from the United States' side.
However, when you look at it from Canada, it's incredible and at the same time, you realize, you're looking at The United States Of America.
Home of Edison AND Tesla but to name a couple.

A fraction of the actual river flows over the precipice. The largest percentage is diverted by both USA & Canada for hydroelectric. Without the diversion, erosion would be exponential. The level of diversion is intentionally choreographed by the time of day & year. During high tourist season (daytime & summer) more water is allowed to flow in order to enhance the appearance. A larger percentage is diverted for hydroelectric when there aren't as many tourists watching (night & winter). Although the outward appearance of the falls is "a force of nature", in reality its appearance is procured & controlled like a faucet by humans.

They didn't drain Niagara falls, only the American fall, wich is much smaller that the main one.

I've never had the privilege of seeing the falls.

If they leave it to nature, its not going to "shrink" or "disappear", its just going to carry on moving south slowly. OK, it'll eventually disappear as it gets closer to Lake Erie, but they reckon that could take 50, 000 years.
