Election 2016: Where are the Asian American voters? - BBC News

Asian Americans are the fastest growing demographic in the US, but are less politically active than black, white and Hispanic voters.
According to the Pew Research Center, they have the lowest voter turnout of any major ethnic group in the United States. Why is participation so low? And will things change after this year's presidential election? The BBC attended an Asian American voter registration event in Virginia to hear the community's thoughts.
Produced by Charlie Northcott and Shefali S Kulkarni

Working! Becoming doctors and lawyers running business's. The Asian community doesn't need anything from anyone. THAT'S The American Dream. To be left alone.

Asians like me know that their personal progress is not determined much by any political party in power but by their pursuit of education, good family support and hardwork.

Asian values are actually like Latino ones, very conservative generally, family-oriented, based on hard work and tradition...but because of complicated American identity politics, they usually turn to Democrats.

Same in always kept asking myself why !...( I am a regular French guy...)the media does not represent them enough, the politics ignore them, but one day they will show up....I hope so very much.
Cheers from France .

I feel that if more Asian Americans were to get involved in politics and vote I believe the party you would see them support would be wait for it !!... the Republican party. Why you ask because Asians are very homogenous people and they are traditionalists you have the family honour system the respect your elders do good in school work very few Asians are atheists so they have a morals. Which is what the Republican party stands for .

Asian Americans - please get into politics. Maybe some of your cultural values will bring up the quality of our elected officials.

I think most second generation Asians Americans probably identify themselves as being closer to the country of their parents.

This video doesn’t show me Asian Americans taking pride in being Asian, looks like they’re focused on being accepted into society

My Asian family and I don’t vote by party, but by the candidates track record, character and future vision. Having said that most of us (4, 781 of us it seems) lean on the conservative side.
