Oh my god I love her acting to bits. Takes your breath away in every scene of Barry. Never seen her interviewed. Looking forward to it.

Sarah is an incredible actress and I cannot wait to see what she does next. She completely killed her performances in EVERY scene.

Barry is an excellent show and Sarah Goldberg is an amazing actress! I look forward to seeing her in more things. Another person commented that she takes your breathe away...and that is so true!

thank you, thank you, thank you, sarah, for pushing for sally to be a complex character despite all the backlash. she's such an interesting character and really well portrayed.
also, that story about henry winkler searching for his car was hilarious. 🤣

I really enjoyed watching Sarah in her role. I watched seasons 1-4 in the space of a week, and thoroughly enjoyed the show. One of the funniest shows out there, and Sarah is such a strong actor.

I love Sarah, she is an amazing actress! And I was SO surprised with Sally being so complex and not the "sweet girlfriend material" just for saving Barry in someway. I think sometimes we don't like her because she is not the "good victim" of abuse that we expected her to be, sometimes I just want to hug her and tell it's gonna be alright. The fandom hating Sally 'cause she "isn't sweet" while Barry KILLS PEOPLE it's pure misogyny and i'm glad the cast talk about that.

I do not at all understand the misogyny angle Sarah speaks of here.

What makes a character “likable” or “unlikable” depends on how easy it is to converse with them.

So it may have something to do with the way dialogue is written for characters, women in particular. And that is why we may usually be using female characters in the discussion of likability.

So is the audience generally misogynist, or are writers not working hard at their jobs? Or is it both?

Great interview overall. I absolutely loved Goldberg’s performance on Barry. Really hope she continues her great work in acting. 🙏

I love the show "Barry" and I never once thought the character Sally was unlikable.
Aspects of her are uncomfortable, messy and unpredictable... Just like all the male characters on the show.

Whilst Barry had an excellent cast, Sarah’s performance was the best I’ve seen in a box set series. You could drop her in any show and she’d improve it.

Sarah was ROBBED at the Emmys. Gene koosinow took home one, but after so many scenes in 32 episodes he only pronounced his character's name correctly ONE time.
Can you imagine if Anthony Carrigan kept saying his character's name as NuHuHonk? Or Cristobal as Christian? Or Fuches as Folkes?!
Sarah and Anthony should have split the vote - a tie. It's happened before.
Winkler took home what's known in cynical circles as a feel-good award. Sure, his acting was fine, but no way in hell should he have been awarded an Emmy.
Sarah your perfomance was incredible, I enjoyed every minute - especially when Bill kissed you (yum).

Misogyny? Unlikable characters are the hardest parts. Take pride in it. The part was written to be that, and you advocated for it. You just said so. Sounds like her character related to your life and career. Instead of LA she moved to NY. Sopranos, kill bill, the list goes on and on where the villain is glorified and celebrated. Unlikable can be anyone not just women. Bill hader made those comments to be PC because he understands the whole picture. Get over yourself take the paycheck and move onto the next project. Why do actors think they're smarter than everyone else
