New Orchids! A little unboxing | Miniature, Variegated, & Odd Surprises

This wasn't the unboxing I was expecting, and was a little bit odd- with a seller refunding the order before I even received it, and including different plants... for free? 🤷‍♀️

It is a good thing you said that the den had a new growth because I was going to say that the old growth was very dry. It was a good customer service from the ebay seller. Fingers crossed that the orchid will be able to send out new leaves and growths. Have a great day.

Oh my! We all sighed right with you when you saw that beautiful variegated leaf fall away from the little plant. Thank you for sharing. It is fun to watch these unboxings; you never know what you will get. 😻

I ordered a 3 inch potted Nepenthe from a very big nursery on Amazon. I received a 6 inch potted unrooted clipping of a totally different Variety. They said that they were out of stock and thought I would like the much bigger plant? ( Unrooted Clipping) the freaking nerve of them! I did immediately get a complete refund and promised not to leave a bad review. The plant died a slow death after I cut it down and tried to get it to root. I paid much more then I wanted from a private nursery for some Nepenthes but they were absolutely beautiful when they arrived and growing beautiful next to my miniature orchids.

I order from ebay to orchids and paid back in October 2020 two different orchids they took my money l texted the seller no response from him parklover is the seller so are lucky l have order from ebay and did get my orchids but this seller no response.😒

I bought a Minmaru in February. It had six beautiful blooms and then last week all of the seemingly healthy leaves fell off like the Shima did for you. Do you have an update on yours? Any advice? I just received another Minmaru yesterday. I upotted it quite a bit to keep all moisture from the bottom of the stem.

I ordered a Paph Philippinenese from this seller, which was very pricey but I really wanted it. When it turned up it was a really young plant and the roots were not in great condition but they sent along with it a Katrin Zoch Mieke which when I googled was very excited as its is a beautiful orchid. However months on and the Katrin bulbs have slowly died off and the roots were in very poor condition when received I have one bulb left and I am praying for a new growth but it isn't looking great as the leaves are now yellowing on that as well now. On the plus side the Paph is now growing a new root.

Omg Annabel your unboxing video was soooo dramatic! I was on the edge to see what happened to that orchid! I’m sorry you essentially got a dead version of what you really wanted, that was almost mean what they did to you!! It was nice of them to send you something but dang, we need to find you the one you want!!

Not sure what experience with Orchids Deluxe was, but mine was quite positive. If it was Brexit-related, not sure there was something for then to do. Personally, I would recommend them.

I d9nt know what to say about the first unboxing... except... free orchids 🤩 the maizuru... I have one and love it! Never bloomed for me, but who cares with leaves like that 🥰 the new growths come out variegated and will turn green in time... usually round about the time it starts a new growth. So good to hear you and see your newbies!! Stay safe 🧜🏻‍♀️❤

Do you have any suggestions for treating Orchids suffering frost. My order from a seller your familiar with arrived with frost damage on leaves and pseudo bulbs. Drop of dragon's blood for the stem rot maybe?

That was wired indeed...but I have to say it was really nice seller to do that. Is restored my faith in humanity...maybe I am too dramatic, but is highly unusual for a seller to put the buyer on the first place. I hope you can save it...I had a few orchids(30) and my husband dog eat 24 in 2 days....but I have managed to save 3...that were left with half a root and no leaf, after 3 years, they have now 4 leaves each, so I hope in another 2 years they will flower as well. 🙄

None of the free orchids can replace that gorgeous variegated form but the seller did his best, nothing else he could do. I would be very sad too and disappointed. Hopefully you will find out another one. Good luck 🤞
