From an RF perspective this is a really very poor repair. If you put this on a network analyzer or time domain reflectometer it will show lousy performance and may nearly block some frequency bands. It really does matter about the diameter of the center conductor and the thickness and composition of the dielectric. It's what determines impedance, resonance, attenuation, etc. The only proper splice for a broken coax is to install male type "f" connectors on each end and screw them into a double female "barrel" connector.

If you need to repair a damaged RG6 cable be aware this is complete nonsense. Get some compression cable fittings and a tool and do a repair that will be functional and last. If you don't want to buy a compression tool buy screw on fittings that would still be far better than this mess of a "repair".

This will work for a little bit then the ingress and egress sets in and pixelation and scrambling takes place the diolectric is there to insulate the signal or go to the hardware store and buy the correct tools and do it correctly

There are available connectors "male" + "female( barrel) ", special made for TV connections.. looks 1000 times better and reliable

Please don't do this. The white part is the "clad" and is made to create a stable impedance at the VHF & UHF frequencies. This electrical tape will cause RF leakage, a weaker signal, and noise from outside the cable for a reduce S:N ratio.

Fun idea that may work for a while. If you want to go "full on jury rig", you should only solder the center conductors together. No extra wire wrapping. Then use the discarded center foam and slit it down the middle and wrap it around the center conductors.
Wrap as best you can with a single layer of tape. Then, wrap the length of center insulation with foil and then solder the two shields together insuring maximum contact to the foil.
Finally wrap it end to end with tape to seal and apply pressure to the foil-shield connection.

Or, use two F connectors and a barrel...

This is the wrong way of joining coax cable.

Total overkill=poor signal quality. So much easier to get F connectors and use a barrel to attach them together. Other than replacing the entire line that would be the best way to repair it. I installed cable and internet for Time/Warner and that's how we did it.

I sure hope this is a joke. This is so poorly done on so many levels and somehow took about 100x longer than the correct way.

If you are in a pinch using electrical tape is great. But If this is for outside. Please don't use electrical tape because of the weather. Try to use Heat shrink or better yet use marine grade heat shrink. Because it has glue inside to keep out all types of weather. Other wise awesome job on the repair. Just my opnion.

This makes as much sense as, fixing a pothole in a road by digging a ditch across the entire street so you can't swerve around the hole.
Do the job correctly the first time.

No longer 75 ohms. Improper dielectric. Spacing between center conductor and shield unmaintained. Probably OK for an emergency repair, but marginal at best.

Do this if you want your cable guy to think your an idiot.... what this repairman doesn't understand is the white part is important and sends signals too and must be flush in the connector sooo just let your cable guy fix it.

As a former cable internet repair this has to be a joke right? This is a joke video???

The 75 ohm impedance is determined by the size of the center conductor in proportion to the distance to the sheath. This is so wrong on every level.
