****** About Living Traditions Homestead ******

Living Traditions Homestead is all about living a simple and sustainable way of life. We believe the world has gotten too “busy” and that people are missing out on many of the true blessings this world has to offer. We started as a small urban homestead in Gilbert, AZ and after the city grew up around us, decided it was time leave corporate America and take a big leap of faith by moving our family to the Missouri Ozarks.

We put out 5 new videos every week! Tuesday through Saturday. We hope you will become part of our homestead family by subscribing to our channel and watching as we transition from city dwellers to full time homesteaders!

I would love to see a pantry tour where you show all the dried spices, herbs, teas that you’ve created from the garden!

I think i'd use a pizza cutter and go crazy on a flat surface or cutting board. it would make quick work. thank you Sarah for showing us HOW to make a tincture.

Oh my gosh, the herbal medicine makers book is AWESOME! So easy to read and very informative. When I got started learning about herbs, how to use them and their healing properties, it was really intimidating. The book helped me raise my self confidence in making home remedies! Thanks for the video! I'm actually going to be growing echinacea this year!

I bought echinacea purpurea as a happy mistake looking for looking for medicinal herbs. I’m so glad I got the right one! I’m getting ready to plant my seeds soon and your video has got me so excited! Thank you! ❤️

I love watching Heidi at Rain Country she’s amazing!! I’ve made soap and vinegar because of her 💕🤗 Mr. Rain made me a morter and pestle just for me and made a video and posted it on YouTube

Thanks for plugging Rain Country. I just subscribed to them. (There are SO many youtubers out there, and a lot of them are just not worth watching....unfortunately, it may take watching 10-20 vids before you can determine that.)

Strange. I always knew that echinacea tincture was made from the roots but never thought about what the actual roots looked like. I think i was envisioning a tap root. Anyway, this was fascinating. MUCH simpler than I could have imagined. I know now what I'll be planting this year. Thanks. You are a wealth of knowledge ( and energy!)

Enjoy your spring weather. It snowed here today. I got some of the snow and ice off of the deck and then packed down some of the snow enough to get out to two of our bird feeders finally.

Just got my vodka - I saw the other grain alcohol you mentioned but since I've never done this before, thought I better stick with vodka as the lady behind the counter kept warning me - that is very strong (150 proof). I'm using it for Usnea as we just had several oak trees removed that were old with many dropped branches and they were around out house. Surprise - they were filled with Usnea and some of it was 5-6" long! I tasted it - very similar to celery. Now to prepare it - got to get some dark jars next. I also want to make vanilla. At 73, it's like a new window on the world is opening and very exciting.

Wow! I am so humbled and grateful for this Sarah! Thank you so much! Great video too! I still have yet to dig up my echinacea roots though it has been a few years. Think I will wait one more.
Again, thank you for this!

Thanks so much for this video! I've got Echinacea seeds started for the coming establishment of an extensive garden, and it was so helpful seeing exactly how you harvest the roots! I'm going to keep this vid in my replay list (for a long time!" Be well & keep up the good work!
