One of the finest bands I have ever seen . On their first tour in support of The Stranglers at Lincoln Drill Hall, the Skids bass player broke a bass string, no back up bass, only him and a roadie threading a top g string mid set, Stuart Adamson filled in the space by playing the Bill Nelson solo to Sister Seagull, a truly talented individual. I was so taken aback that I stopped punching a skinhead wearing a Sham army T-shirt. Rest in peace my man x

Think this was in February 1981, rather than 1980. I remember it being on TV and the reference to "A Woman In Winter" deserving to be number 1 and that it should be re-entered is also a clue. It hadn't been released in February 1980.

This is Chelsea College of Arts, 2 February 1981. The final gig was at The Venue club, Victoria Street on 10 February 1981. Shortly after that, first Baillie then Adamson left.

@15:29: "Nobody smells my gravy" - that's what I sang for about 30 years.
