If you’re parking your money in a traditional savings account, this is a horrible strategy. Let me explain. According to Bankrate’s recent survey, the national average yield for savings accounts is .61 percent APY. Many banks are offering rates as low as 0.1%... which is basically ZERO!

In fact, storing money in a traditional savings account actually costs you money. Here’s why: the annual inflation rate in the US was 3.4% in 2023. This means your dollars are losing their value every day. That interest rate isn’t keeping up with inflation at all.

Experts are investing in gold, silver, and bitcoin like never before because they see these assets as safe havens amidst economic uncertainty and a collapsing dollar. These investments are key to preserving and growing wealth in volatile times.

I worked very hard for 35 years, running my own businesses for 20 of those years. Now I'm living off the interest of my savings. I get a net yield before tax of about 5% in Australia for the next 5 years. That's pretty good for no hassle and very low risk. I live and travel SE Asia on a fraction of what I earn. When I want some action I look for opportunities and invest with 100% cash. I don't buy stocks because I don't understand them. I buy rundown businesses or cheap assets in distressed sales. Maybe property if I see a bargain. I tried the landlord game, but I don't like it, there's a lot of risk if you get the wrong tenants.
