I’ve been straddling Sony and Canon systems… a7c and a7r3a on Sony, Canon RP (as a cheap trial body). My next camera is going to be the Canon R8. I love the Sony lens choices, but for the small travel camera I’m looking for I enjoy the Rp/R8 body style over Sony’s a7c ergonomics. Canon is ahead with stuff like touch control too (and of course the R8 has 4k60 full frame).

the very small inconvenience of stopping recording in the middle of shooting is barely covered by the usual camera shills / sales channels. Fair enough. It probably does not even get noticed by people when using it.

Hi David! I just got the Sony a7rv, and totally love it! I did a airshow today and it was fantastic! I shoot birds, and landscape with with it and I have say it's the best camera I've ever used! Off topic- I loved your opening video and the music was perfect for the model. I looked at it two times! I don't shoot video at all so all my cameras are winners for me! (A7rii, A7riii, A9, and the A7r5) One of the older a7r cameras will be covered to inferred!!!👍👍👍

I had to wait it seemed like forever, for the A7IV, but I'm glad I waited. I guess I got lucky waiting for the camera I wanted for only $2, 500 US. I'm not a professional and could afford to wait though. Big difference!

About Nikon, don't forget that Z6II/Z7II owners have every reasons to be unhappy because they never got a decent auyofocus system update. Despite having twice the power of the originals Z6/Z7 they still lag behind an A7III.

A1 should get breathing comp easily, 45mp there, and a number of software features, a7siii should get animal eye focus etc., Seems dynamic active stablization, too.

Hi David, this camera is ok for vlogers shooting short clips, but it is so crippled for the hybrid user wanting to film longer videos. The overheating, lack of an EVF, and bad back screen are the major problems. For the first time, mirrorless hybrid buyers can't go past the Panasonic s5ll.

Since the introduction of digital cameras the body has been obsolete the day you walk out of the store with it. Sony could take lessons from Apple and update the camera with trinklets like the iPhone does. Then at least you hang onto it for two years.

Hey! Watched the live stream but waited to post my comments til after. I feel there needs to be a difference between "content creator" and "vlogger". The ZV-E1 was made for new content creators, not vloggers. Here is how I define the difference. Content creators have lots of heavy gear, multiple lenses, lighting, filters, tripods, gimbals, etc. They want that "pro/cinematic" look. They mostly stage their shots. They will shoot in S-log, use luts, etc. That is who this camera is for. Not a vlogger. A vlogger, like myself with a YouTube channel, wants something more point and shoot. Something smaller, lighter, that takes great video using a standard profile mode. For my travels, I need it to be compact, light, rugged. For that, I use the Sony RX100Vii with a Saramonic mic for audio. I also use a bunch (2 10's, one 7 and one Session 5) of GoPros. All fit into a small padded bag in my backpack. I would not buy the new ZV-E1 for vlogging. But I would buy an updated RX or a ZV-2 that has a 16-50mm lens. I feel those are vlogger cameras. My 2 cents.

For video ZV-E1 is better than a7c. For photo I would definitely buy the a7c.
A not great EVF is much better than no EVF.

I just want a 85MM 1.2 .... if I had the money, I would go back to Canon. I like their bodies more... although I like SONY focusing on lighter equipment.

Nikon and Canon releasing firmware updates to fix unfinished cameras. Sony releases feature complete cameras, thats a good thing isn't it?

It's a continued bad move by Sony. The A1 is a great camera, but i feel a little short-changed . If other camera manufacturers can do it so can they

Honestly Sony is just producing one camera after the other, some of them even overlapping and creating a complete mess of their lineup. They seem to be only interested in selling new models but they have zero interest in maintaining predecessors. Sell and forget about it!
