Queen Elizabeth II was anointed and crowned 70 years ago in an ancient and religious ceremony. Now the pageantry will be performed again as the crown passes to her son.

Thousands of members of the armed forces will be on parade and 60 aircraft will take part in a coronation fly-past. The King’s procession will make its way from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey, featuring the most regal of carriage rides and historically significant items such as the Stone of Scone.
