You gotta love how America forces triage in the worst possible way, and the people on the ground floor get in trouble for not being able to handle a once-in-a-lifetime horror, but the people who created the shitty situation by shredding funding and ignoring disaster warnings never even get their names mentioned.
We can't handle another Katrina the same way we can't handle another COVID. We've learned nothing.

This is heartbreaking. And one of the reasons I left healthcare after 11 grueling years on night shifts. They (the suits/bean counters) put us in impossible situations then we get punished for doing the best we humanly can with what little resources they give us. The general public has no idea how difficult it is to work in hands on patient care. Heavy responsibilities and emotional/physical strains are heaped on our healthcare workers.

I don’t understand why any person with a soul would look at this situation and pass judgement. If one of those patients was a loved one of mine and either had the choice to die in peace or starve, drown, or die in some other horrific way, I think we’d all choose the peaceful way.

The cowardice of suits and government officials to even think about prosecuting doctors for this is unimaginable. Our country is OBSESSED with trauma, hurt, and persecution.

I came here as soon as I saw the thumbnail with Vera Farmiga because I have yet to watch anything with her that isn't good. This looks good but at the same time heartbreaking especially because it's based on true events.

I live in south Louisiana so I remember Katrina & Rita very well. Got married in November of 2005. It was a hard time for a lot of people and we’re used to hurricanes (if I can even say that). My heart goes out to all the people who had to make these very difficult decisions.

The doctors shouldn’t have been prosecuted in this. They were going to be forced to leave dying patients behind without food, water or pain meds. So they gave some of them morphine to pass peacefully. I don’t blame them.

as a healthcare worker this is honestly my worst fear. I don’t think about myself I think about what we’re going to do with all of the patients, I can survive without food or water for a few days but we have patients who require iv drips, pain meds, respirators etc. I don’t blame them for doing what was humane in those circumstances but I would hate to be in that situation myself.

As a chronically ill and disabled person, if they couldn’t get me out, I would have wanted them to unalive me rather than leave me to suffer and die slowly in those conditions.
