Thank you for your video - this is a really interesting take and I think you're definitely onto something. I started a gardening website that got pretty penalized by the latest March Google update. I only have 35 articles but I focused on 2 very separate categorical topics - FERTILIZERS and LAWN MOWERS. These are so so different and if I could do it over I would have taken your advice and gone as deep as I can on one specific category FIRST to build that topical authority. But now where I am at I have about 15 articles in each category---what do I do now knowing what you've taught me? Do I delete all the Lawn Mower topics and just dive into fertilizers? do I scrap the website?? Not sure how to recover / pivot given this new strategy with an existing site. Help!!

So topical authority is about one thing. For example, airline ticket vs travel bag. The topics are about traveling, but one is abiut flying, and another is about packaging the bag. Two different topics?

These are great videos you're making on the topic of topical authority. What about E-EATs, though? Those drops look typical for so many of us. According to Kyle Roof, these sudden drops are due to manual checks by Google engineers. They take a look at your site once you gain traction. And if you don't have E-EATs, they pull the plug on you. Did you have all the bases covered, like author, schema, Terms/Conditions, etc?

ONLY because we were working with sponsors... anyway, what should I do with those posts that are lifestyle and bringing in thousands of readers a month but not in our niche?

I also think that my existing topics (lawn mowers and fertilizers) aren't like bush beans where you can pivot to different types of beans. For example, I would have loved to choose a specific vegetable and then move onto another vegetable once I was done with that first vegetable...but I'm already in these 2 topics (lawn mowers and fertilizers). Do I start a new topic and do your strategy or do I TRY to go deep into one of my existing topics (say fertilizer....). If the latter....I'm just not sure what related topic I could easily move to if I covered everything about fertilizers...help!

Great point. What if i have some articles (let’s say 5 each) on my 3 sub-niches, and around 20 articles on my focus sub-niche. Shall i leave the 3 sub-niches for now or shall i go a step further and delete those small number of articles on the 3 sub niches?
