Is it safe to send them off to be graded? What is the process?

I’m am NEW to coins and what they are worth and my mind is blown away with all the information. My dad passed away last year and a year prior to that he gave me coins from my grandparents. It’s like I don’t know where to start and I’m looking for any advice. I paid for the coin scan app. .. so I’m wondering if I just take each coin from my grandparents and scan them first ? So who do you trust to send these coins to?
I am actually in a situation right now where I need money so that’s why I’m doing this otherwise I would never consider getting rid of them.

Question! Where do you take these coins when they are worth like you say?

Thank you for producing this. Knowing what to look (and look out) for is so important. I have seen what can only be described as overly inflated prices. I could not imagine anyone, even a sucker, paying the asking price for some coins that are not professionally graded...UNTIL...a friend suggested this might be done deliberately by a "seller" looking to launder money. Imagine two people working together. They have a LOT of cash that needs laundering. One person will "sell" an ordinary coin for an extraordinary price. Another person in the laundering operation will "buy" the coin at the inflated price - no questions asked. If someone from the gov't catches them, they can argue they sold a "valuable" coin and they have a receipt to prove it.

Do you have to send the coin off to be graded? How do we know we’ll get the original coin back from the company?

I sent my coins to pcgs with issues they said it cost 300 each for grades of unique mints such as mistakes, can I submit it regular and pay the regular fee or do I have to always pay for unique coins for $300 which is the best way to approach this?

Hi there, I have a 1943 Steel D yes. Magnetic, however, it’s stamped upside down on the other side, the wheat side, or, I suppose it could be the way around, head side is reversed .. thoughts ? I tried to look it up, but I can’t find anything like it, and thank you so much for your videos!

Hello there. I'm new and very intrigued with coin collecting. I have a very important question or two. 1. Why did some of my pennies disintegrate after soaking in vinegar with salt?? All I wanted to do was read the year and mint mark. Am I ruining the value of my pennies???
